A challenge to you wizards!

Post by Amberlee » 31 Mar 2011 04:14

..And yes.. I mean all of you

Make yourself a mortal character.
Live in the donut as we the players do for a little.
Experience things as we do.
Basically walk a mile in our shoes.

Now i dont mean all of you do it at the same time.

I have gotten the impression of late that many of you have grown distant to the game and only see the code.
This is not a good thing in my opinion.
Play as a mortal to a certain level... Then tell us _your_ experience..

I know i would like some feedback on how things are in your perspective to us as a community of players.

This is ofcource a double edged sword, but i think it would be for the best really :)
The views posted by me on this forum is not the views of the character Amberlee in-game.
If you ask for my opinion here, you will get MY opinion, not that of my character.

Play a mortal and try some of the guild that you've destroyed among other things, damn good idea Amb!

Well - I would rather ask wizards to play the guilds they (hopefully ... someday ...) will recode - Rangers and kenders. For some reason SS is the most dead guild afaik ... closely followed by (from time to time re-awakened) Rangers.

What ever happened to all the juniors, wizards had in the guilds to playtest themselves? I wouldn't mind a Gorbothjr or Cotillionjr to abuse Ranger racks if they'd want/need to - that way they could see what is and what is NOT achievable/possible and what can be utterly frustrating. Maybe even learn some of the lore ...

Hell - I'd even go as far as taking them through the usual apprentice/training process and spend all of my available active time with them, just to make sure they learn how well-coded the lore and feeling of the Rangers is now. All those great things you can do around ME ... to assure it wouldn't get lost during the (potential) recode.

Btw. I know some wizards have their seconds in Rangers ... and I guess that's true for other guilds as well. The question remains - which of those wizards use their seconds to enhance the game and which use them for their own fun (reminder - "fun" can differ quite a lot for other people) only ...

Just curious, since you always bring up the Rangers and Kenders. Not saying it will happen but what if Gorbothjr played them and decided they are "just right"?

I'd kindly ask him to play one of the already re-coded guilds to see the difference
it could be a merc+lay option, DAs, knights, Calians, Neidar ... actually whatever ;)

the note about merc smallfries soloing s-elves unarmed makes me whine silently into my monitor every time I see it :?

Laurel you know its easier for smallfries to tank s-elves better because they don't use their specials till you obtain a certain size.

I think Laurel referncing to my post. I was just-becoming-champ. Hobbit, with titanic STR, immotal dex and epic con. Mercenary+templar. Cuase both specials works without weapon, and tfocus depends on defensive skills (defence and parry sup guru) + dex (hobbit, you know) it was pretty easy to take down s-elves.

Lets be honest, any titan with herbs and enough spare weapons can take down shadow-elves.
