What about skill inflation?
Nearly every guild is running around with sup guru in atleast one weapon skill?
Boring yes no?

Well,

I'm not sure if there is much more of an option. I can say that I doubt magic guilds have sup guru in any weapon, nor would I say every guild does. In fact it is typical that you must complete a quest in order to gain access to sup guru in the majority of guilds that I know of. Save the Mercenaries, I would imagine that all fighter guilds have sup guru in at least one weapon. What other way would their be to do it?

I suppose we could go with a model of the more you use a weapon the more efficient you are at it and that you don't actually train skills anymore. Thus making it possible to get sup guru in every weapon with enough time and energy.

The issue is how would it be changed. It may be boring, but it is often thematic. I don't think it is necessarily boring, but it is certainly consistent.

The only problem I have with skills would be awareness, I think gardeners and occupational guilds in general have way too much. Unless your specialized in sneaking and hiding you shouldn't be able to spot even an amatuer.

For the most part guilds require a quest to hit guru, some are easier then other but most require a level of hero or above which is fine with me.

In my opinion, the Mercenaries and Ogres have the hardest guru skill quests in the game. :-)

Rangers and Kenders prove otherwise. Dunno about SU with knives.

I agree on awareness, is there any guilds that DONT have sup craftsman in awareness right now? Making thieves unless you are a merc totaly useless, even more useless than before

Rangers and SS aren't fighter-type guilds though, which would justify their lower combat skills.

I generally agree on awareness and would also like mercs to only be able to train skills up to sup master (jack of all trades - being good at all, guru at none).

Right,

There are a lot of different types of guilds in this game. Well, three types. Fighter, Cleric, Theif, Ranger, and Mage, and newbie. Kender are a thief guild, although I completely disagree with calling Kender thieves! HOW DARE YOU! and Rangers are, obviously, Ranger type guilds. I'm not sure where the SU is listed as a fighter guild, and I do know that Nellnight for example does not have High Blademaster as a title, so I would assume that they do not get sup guru sword at least, so I would imagine in all likelihood they would for knife...though I could be wrong.

I also agree with awareness. Kender used to be sooo awesome to play as. When I was Martooth I "borrowed" a jar of components from a Mage and then talked to him in such an annoying way he attacked me and then realized he had no components. I also used to wander around and if I got attacked, which seemed to happen a lot from evil folks being a Kender, I would sneak out and back into the room and talk to them when they couldn't see me.

With the changes Kenders have now lost the thing that made them the most fun. Kenders are supposed to be the sneakest, cleptomaniac, lock picking machines. They used to be...but not anymore.

You get high blademaster title from sup master. Don't need guru for that.

What hurt Kenders and other sneakers wasn't many guilds having high awareness (with sup craft awareness you have [numbers removed] chance of seeing someone with sup lay sneak/hide, if someone has sup craft sneak and hide this chance goes down to [numbers removed] I think) but rather not being able to sneak for some time after being attacked (something I discovered the hard way when Ilrahil attacked me when I was still a pupil). For sure with superior craftsman sneak and hide you're pretty much safe to sneak around Dragonarmy members who have superior professional awareness, been there, done that.

Hide is the problem and kuko.

Sup journeyman is enough to see almost anyone hiding (except maybe RoN) without magical items. And then you have the problem that PoT and DAs attacked kenders on sight and if you couldn't fight them(militia jab was better then sling and no combat skills) and you couldn't sneak away or hide from them. So as a kender you were a easy target.
