I have no idea what it could be then... Perhaps some monocle-manacle amalgam out of hell? Like a monocle chained to a heavy iron ball or something...

No, why? There's no such thing as "monacle" in english dictionary.

Edit: After extensive searching I've found that urban dictionary indeed does list "monacle" as a single shackle. It's referenced as appearing in the Penny Arcade webcomic and nowhere else, which makes it really surprising how such a thing has found its way into Genesis.

Surely it's a spelling mistake, is it meant to be a monocle (a single lens for improving vision in just one eye) or a single manacle
(a single handcuff). Depending on which one it is, it will make a lot of difference where you will go and search for one.

While we are asking about hard things to find, what about a single pipe.
