The girl with the rough voice (Rachel Aspe) recently joined the french band ETHS after she participated in a talent show (yes, with this voice ), and the other girl is from the band Kerion, which is an absolutely great band.

Wow, that is pretty wild stuff.

To me, it sounds like a combination of 4 things, movie soundtrack music, Japanese 16-bit video game music, death metal (that Aspe gal's voice, I guess), and ABBA (the lead singer.)

Talented musicians, to be sure. The "rough voice," as you put it, functions as (unintentional?) comedy, to this listener. Hee hee. I've never been able to take it seriously, as it sounds like a goofy kid trying to be demonic.
