Botting Reminder

Post by gorboth » 19 Apr 2013 22:33

Code: Select all

Hello all,

I really don't like punishing players. However, combat botting is one of
those things that hurts the game a great deal. It is hard to police, because
so many people seem like they are botting, and ignore the whole world, but
respond to a wizard who gives them a test.

Well, today I had to kill a player who failed that test. I'll not name names,
but I do want to publicly remind everyone that I *WILL* kill you and
destroy all of your items if you are caught combat botting. <help botting>

I'd say that killing them isn't punishment enough.
At least you should lower their recovery-size to the size they have after their death.
Otherwise it doesn't really matter much.

Which still isn't that bad, considering people were deleted for cheating back in the days.
And if botting isn't cheating, then I don't know what is.

Creed got a point... Make a "death ray" for caught botters that kills and removes ALL recovery bonus...

That would HURT people properly....

Oh, and I mean ALL recovery bonus... So if a myth dies down to a low size, gets caught for botting, suddenly the player is (for example) titan without the recovery back to former size... THAT would hurt big time!

I say after the first offence and if you havent learned.
Death with no recovery and a loss of QEXP would be a nice fitting punishment.
