Found this hooded orc again, this time outside Qualinost.
I decided to check if he had fixed the holes in his robe,
but as soon as I touched him, he RAN. Quickly! I tracked
him to the piers where I saw him hurriedly escaped on a ship
to Sparkle!
I then tracked him to Terel, and once again he ran as soon
as I touched him, not daring to be in the same room as me.
The mages are suddenly afraid of me it seems!
I learned a few more things too since I last posted here, from
this encounter and the previous ones!
FIRSTLY,
Mages can scry using CROWS!
A few days ago, when I had aquired a satchel of potions me and
my friends saw an encircling clutch of midnight black crows appear
overhead and slowly fly about.
(Thanks Syrk for keeping your eyes open and noticing the
crows)
One of the potions I borrowed also seemed to be used to summon
these crows. So... its pretty clear mages can scry using crows.
So if you see crows, a mage is probably after you! So prepare
yourself to hunt him!
SECONDLY,
So Yanus tells me a mage is in Gelan making trouble, even killing
innocent citizens! So I went there to chase him away!
A saw a limping(!) wraith wielding some type of flaming weapon.
One I never seen before. It was like the flames on the black-robed
hooded male wraith's flaming darkened ornamented scimitar cast a
dull radiance, lengthening shadows rather than truly illuminating.
Yes, that exactly how it looked like! I dont know what this is
about. My only theories are either it is a weapon I dont know of
with flames, or mages have special weapons from some smith/armoury
or they can set weapons ablaze. Looked pretty creepy though!
THIRDLY,
So, after the mage had left Calia I decided to follow him, to
make sure he didnt cause trouble in other cities. But he sure did!
I learned that mages can use their foul mahic to force one creature
to attack another!
This happened in Sparkle, in plain view! (I watched from not to
plain view of course).
As I watched, the black-robed hooded male wraith stared threateningly
into the eyes of a fluffy brown dog, and then pointed at a large
cheerful man and rasped the words: Maetho! (loud and clear).
Then,
Acting like a possessed creature, the fluffy brown dog turned to
attack the large cheerful man!
So it seems like they can control other creatures to fight for them!
S c a r y!
Now why they have to kill innocent people in friendly cities, and
even protected cities, I dont know. But I guess its just their way!
FOURTHLY,
I borred a funny-looking talisman from the wraith. To study. It
looked like a small, palm-sized talisman in the shape of an Eye,
wreathed in flame. Strange shadowy powers seemed to radiate from the
very center of the Eye and urged me you to pass it over nearby corpses.
So I did! And to my dissapointment it seems to do nothing more
than the ingot from Calia. Still a useful trinket though, with a
cool logo on it, but in the end pretty BORING!
FIFTHLY,
The potions! Me and some guys met in a dark room and spent an
entire night researching them. Besides from becoming all high and
giggly from the fumes, we discovered A LOT of interesting stuff.
Ingredients, spells, and so on. Now, instead of revealing all this
to everyone right away, I am gonna give the mages a little more
time to decide if they want this info shared or not... or if they
want to discuss a deal. Currently, they of course resort to their
usual tactics. They have threatened to kill me, my friends, even
the innocent ones, and en entire innocent guild has been threatened
to be killed one by one. Soooo typical mages. Dont go after the one
who bothers you, go for her friends. Kill, kill, kill. Bah! This
is exactly the type of stuff I am opposing. I am not going to
surrender to these threats, and I hope nobody else will either!
Yanus had the brilliant idea to hold a charity auction for
some of the potions to support children, husbands and wives of mage
victims. Thats a great idea! Some of you may have seen my post
regarding that, however I had to remove it since unforunately there
seem to be some problem with the auction house and potions currently.
I will start this auction as soon as I Rommik tells me everything
is working as it should. This means mages will be able to buy their
secrets back too before its revealed! But all money will go to support
of future mage victims! So it's their choice. Get secrets spilled out
or donate money to your own victims! Hah! Clever Yanus!
I'll post the auction info soon!
Mages are clearly getting cautious, maybe even afraid! Keep up the
opposition, its working!
