The parchment was a note from this Ebenestus character. He had written to
Stern to let him know that he was very satisfied with the number of helpers
he has had, and given that he has not been shown any new races for the last
half-week or so, he has begun the process to conclude his affairs.
There seem to be a few groups of eventers.
The fast-starters who were awake and were free when the event started,
and could concentrate on getting as fast and as many necrobits as possible.
They will be awarded for being first to deliver.
The mass-gatherers who might not start at the very beginning but decided
to do the event fulltime, waste no time and gather all necrobits.
They will be awarded for delivering the greatest numbers.
Casual-eventers who expecting the event to last for weeks were
not in much hurry and gathered the bits from time to time while
enjoying other aspects of the realms.
Now the leisure is no more and in frantic hurry they try to catch
up at least some and get even numbers for quest experience
awards (coins and stones are mere trinkets).
That Ebenestus pal seems not to care about the last group.
Probably he has the right, probably he will want other kind
of guys to join the guild he is going to set up when concluded
his experiments with gathered bits but it makes him
a shabby character.
