Re: War
Of course what no one seems to be mentioning is the 2 rangers that were killed were lightweight non combatants who never do any harm to anyone and of a different ranger branch than Nemi.
The first lightweight death was specifically targeted to "punish" Nemi for defending herself. The lightweight's death and Bromen's reaction of said death was the nature of the "dispute". Aizorana got involved after the young ranger of her branch was killed. the second killing of young ranger was probably meant to "punish" her.
This is not a war, its a couple of bullies picking on people they believe won't fight back and then posting on the forum about it.
over all I am trying to keep names quiet that weren't already mentioned. as I do not wish to encourage further violence.

Smaller folks die to pvp. I know I have. The fact you're a Ranger comes with the dangers of knowing that there are those out there that will kill you.Snowrose wrote:Of course what no one seems to be mentioning is the 2 rangers that were killed were lightweight non combatants who never do any harm to anyone and of a different ranger branch than Nemi.

My reaction to the death was to talk face to face with Nemi and create some sort of truce. She was stubborn and demanded things that I would never do and so she and Aizorana attacked me from Sparkle all the way back to Sanction. That's what triggered the war. Their attack on me. We warned Nemi over and over that we would kill one Ranger per sword taken and we set that number at 3. The second ranger that died was given back all equipment and herbs.
During talks it was clear all Nemi expected was for me to bend to her wishes and neither Ranger had the patience to talk things out. So it is a war. It is not my fault that the only rangers active are Legend and smaller. If they didn't want the conflict then they shouldn't have attacked me. The war continues and Nemi knows how to stop it. Her ego won't allow it though.

Not clear if the soldier's death had to do with the war or other circumstances.

Lets set things straight, shall we Bromen?bromen wrote:It seems the Rangers want a war and so they have it.
After offering an olive branch to settle disputes, two nefarious Rangers Nemi and Aizorana, attacked me with when all I wanted was to discuss peace. I would like to apologize to all who might die in the course of this conflict due to the actions of these infamous people. Do not worry too much, the Blue Army and our powerful allies will alleviate the realms from the threat of these Rangers so peace can come to all.
Regards,
Bromen
General of the Blue
Rangers didn't want a war. Rangers got attacked. Cassius of the AA and Ilrahil of the BDA attacked a small ranger on Holm, which we ignored easily, it hapened on Holm. Then Nemi in Terel where he dropped his mace during combat, after he had stolen the black boots from Trevin's corpse, Nemi's kill. Then finally, on the boat between Sybarus and Sparkle, they murdered the small ranger.
"offering an olive branch" is Bromen's term for:
Demanding we apologize, publicly.
For getting attacked (Nemi), being murdered (Tibor), for, after Bromen answered a mail with wanting to reward Ilrahil for the attacks.
For, after this mail, the attack on Caane, on the Holm, where Caane left without taking with him he weapons from the corpse of the Noble he had just slain. (thanks Caane)
Demanding the return of nightbringer, the mace dropped by Cassius in the initial attack on Nemi.
Demanding Rangers provide the BDA with a certain number of high end swords.
In return he would "not attack rangers and order his soldiers the same".
This wasn't a negotiation, it wasn't even close, it was an insult where Bromen tried to dictate how Rangers should behave and deal with their members being attacked and murdered. The insult was thus answered, and after Bromen had run away like every BDA does when out alone and meeting resistance, we tracked him to Newports where we joined him on the boat to Sanction. As soon as we entered Sanction, the General strategically retreeted (or fleeing as it would be) back to his camp with low health.
We Rangers didn't ask for this, I've even offered to publicly apologize to Bromen for the attack on him after his insulting attempts to dictate Rangers, but only if he provides the sword taken from the small ranger who was murdered and posting a public note condemning the actions of Ilrahil. To this Bromen declared war.
Then, as Bromen has said, Ilrahil died. There are rumours, but I cannot confirm or deny any of them, I just know he died, and in fury over this quit and have not been seen since. After this, however, there's been a funny development. Bromen doesn't leave Sanction, only Caane does, Krewl doesn't even stay online... I dunno, but isn't it time, Bromen, that you realize that without fighting, you're never gonna win a war, and we don't mind beating you up again.
For the Rangers of Westlands, Nemi, Captain of Ithilien
PS Someone commented that I had died. I did, to a NPC, whilst I had to take care of my daughter and thus was unattentive in a no-flee location. BDA didn't have a thing to do with it, they've so far only managed to slay an expert and a veteran using legends+ to fight.
Flee you fools!
Re: War
He didn't like being Scryed, we didn't follow him onto the boat to Newports, I scryed him to find him in Newports waiting for the next boat to Sanction, then we took the NEXT boat to Newports and joined him on the boat and beat him up there... one more ranger and he'd be following Ilrahil I guess. So the next time he left Sanction, he had no torque... Strange isn't it?Prokop wrote:Bromen!!
Your Torque!, What happened??
You smashed it!
Oh well, Looking at your start location was getting boring.
so she and Aizorana attacked me from Sparkle all the way back to Sanction.
What an epic saga of bravery.
Personally, that's at least the third torque I remember having been broken due to me scrying

Flee you fools!
Re: War
Was what the intention? If by this question, you mean pvp hunting, then yes. It was created so players could spy on one aonther's location to try and find people.Laurel wrote:was that the intention behind creating this item?Icarus wrote:Personally, that's at least the third torque I remember having been broken due to me scrying

Re: War
Fun to see hypocrisy being posted.
Ilrahil and Cassius attacked her, there was no war.
Aizorana and Nemi attacked me, there is a war.
As for bravery, I'm smart enough to retreat when I'm not prepared for combat. Would any posting here do different? Nemi ran from combat and I see no one belittling her "bravery." We would all agree survival is paramount.
The meeting in Sparkle is an interesting topic. I did sling insults, I didn't apologize, and I did what was expected as a General of the Blue. What is not being shared is Nemi was similarly abusive in her demands for what I should do. I'm never going to take orders from a ranger, certainly not by one who garners such little respect throughout the realms.
Hate me if you will. Like Generals before me I only cherish the respect given to me by my allies, soldiers, and officers. None of the blue are scared of any ranger. I did destroy my torque because it was an advantage to my enemy. I do venture out of sanction when I'm not dealing with wizards or internal guild issues. Anyone who knows me knows I have left middle earth to its own devices. I look forward to returning to that state of mind.
Until then, rangers will be attacked on sight. Our spies in your ranks will continue to feed us intelligence. If you want this to end, ask your captain to do it.
