Web client JAVA not working
Hey there!
As I wanted to get back to the game it turned out that I am unable to do so because:
"The Genesis Web Client makes heavy use of Javascript to provide a functional mud client. Unfortunately, Javascript seems to be disabled. Please re-enable and reload the page. "
Every other Java applet launches properly. Any hints? Tips?

Re: Web client JAVA not working
It requires Javascript, not Java.
It also requires a recent HTML5 capable browser.
I'd recomment Firefox or Chrome.

Re: Web client JAVA not working
I have all browsers available installed - none of those is working at all. So I am wondering where the problem is...
Re: Web client JAVA not working
What is your Java security set at?
When there was that huge flaw with Java they enabled the security level very high by default. you may need to allow Java to run on the website either through security settings in java itself or your browser options.

Re: Web client JAVA not working
Maybe you have an addon like NoScript installed which is blocking the client.
Other than that I don't know..
If you bring up the developer console (F12 in Chrome) are there any error messages in the console output there?

Re: Web client JAVA not working
Hey!
Thank you for your replies/inputs. Replying to your suggestions:
1. Chrome web browser cannot open your web site at all as it uses an untrusted certificate.
2. Java security level is set as HIGH.
3. Javascripts are enabled in Internet Options.
4. Every other website's Java aplet runs smoothly.

Re: Web client JAVA not working
It appears you are behind a very restrictive firewall then.
It's likely to be attempting to remove SSL and failing.

Re: Web client JAVA not working
Ok... are you able to change the category of site from : games to "banking" or "online shopping"? As they (our IT dept) is allowing https to those categories
OR is there a "lite" version of a mud client? Which doesn't use Javascripts? Just plain txt but through port 80?

Re: Web client JAVA not working
Well, you can always try plain telnet with PuTTY or something like that. Port is 3011.Ergo wrote:Ok... are you able to change the category of site from : games to "banking" or "online shopping"? As they (our IT dept) is allowing https to those categories

Time is precious. Waste it wisely.
