Greetings.

I agree with you actually to some degree. Without reason to roleplay or
pressure to do so to gain and obtain power, it can quickly become 'pointless'
if you get the _same_ level of power with _less_or no effort. Promoting
Eliteguilds with more power, Or alternatively, more trinkets/utilities/features
or other stuff is cool, and even if they obviously mean they are Over the
average joe in power for their RP restrictions and efforts, a direct counter
should exist that is their opposite.

If you have average joe's guild 1,2,3 and 4, and Leet guild as nr.5 that has
some very obvious advantages in power over all the other 4 remaining guilds,
you may get a problem in overall gamebalance. However, to justify the existence
of nr.5, nr.6 should also exist that is put directly in confrontation of nr.5.
Nr5 and nr6 have the same harsh requirements and tedious power-levelup for
their members, rest have no reqs and each of 1-4 counters eachother out.

You have now a chessboard with one black queen, and one white queen, and the
1-4 presents peasants, divided evenly on both sides. Now you have a technically
balanced gameplay, and the outcome betveen is entirely left to the players. You
can ofcourse with your _Opinion_ say that black side is unbalanced because you
think so, but technically it doesnt change the fact that it isnt.

A guild more powerful because they have restrictions is cool in my eyes, as
long as there is an another guild with the same reqs and power, put as their
direct counter. Both even out each other in the equation, and you do get a good
gamebalance as a result.

Thoughts for the mind.
Might and Glory flaming for changing dawn, ancient power revealed of an iron crown, clear and cold and shining so far and bright, crush the world in one clash of your binding light.

Gû kîbum kelkum-ishi, burzum-ishi. Akha - gûm-ishi ashi gurum!
