Stats and death
As I've experienced, when I died my stats restacked. My balance was removed.
Even if you die, you should have the same stats as you had when you grew.
Sure the system doesn't affect a human with default focus.. But how many are playing default?
I'm just saying two words, fix it!

Bomrim - why don't you explain a little better and ask a little nicer. I've found that wizards don't really take well to demands.
If something I wrote sounds confusing ... assume you misunderstood it.

Re: Stats and death
More details needed.
I focused on con say, super high, then die but do not focus on con focus on dex. It is different when recovered.
This is better as it gives people flexibility to use death to change their set up.
But if you did want to return to exact same as before.
That would be a nice option to have...
But you CAN still do it by copying what you did before with focusing.

Re: Stats and death
I've never changed my focus.. So It's not about focus. The experience seem to be cut from all stats, same amount from each stats when you die.
I'm a dwarf and the experience at dex is worth much, I don't need more con and str.
I got a bit out of balance.
Before I could manage three (hero's) of the four champions (havn't found the fourth), now I can't handle any of them. I also have more experience and better skills than before.
The balance between stats is important...

it's all about peace of mind, i tell you! You need to relax, meditate...
Look at the footballers - when they are stressed and under pressure they lose
Go have a shot of spirit or two and you will beat them up!

Re: Stats and death
I am not completely sure, but I think it has to do with the fact that when you die you get all your statistics get the same hit (say, 20%) but when you recover your race-favored statistics get more experience. In other words:
So, unless you are forcing experience into dexterity, every time you die your dexterity will reach a lower roof. Ask Irk, he traded lots of dexterity points for constitution because he dies often and focuses on constitution.
Code: Select all
STR DEX CON INT WIS DIS
100 100 100 100 100 100 -> current experience
-- after death --
80 80 80 80 80 80 -> must recover 120 points
-- recovery --
102 94 102 100 100 102 -> new "current experience"

It would be nice to be able to return to exactly how it was before as an option..
Re: Stats and death
There is. After a death, set your recovery to be even until your recover.Tarax the Terrible wrote:It would be nice to be able to return to exactly how it was before as an option..

Cool..
But I thought that is what Bomrim said he did and he failed somehow..
Hmm he actually said he "Never changed his focus" so maybe it was not on even and thats why.
