Re: Limited Items.
Common, there hell a lot of decent items for expert-titan what is not limited and you can get them alone.
I remember days when i was rising hero. Set of ancient steel armours and 2 green longswords was enough for grinding in Gont and other areas for rising hero - titan.
Huge waraxes - they are not limited.
Decent clubs, like double morning star and heavy steel club are probably limited, but there a lot of others, like 3-headed flails and staff like that.
Polearms - i even was happy with Bubbas polearms.
And at the end, you can get decent weapons in Tyr for few coins. That was common for me when i was Gladiator and we had empty racks. Buy 2 axes in Tyr and go to kabal for ancient steel armours. Done.
The question is, for what you need EQ. For getting XP? So, while you are below legend or champ you don't need something special. No dscales or kernan, black aurak? Go to lod and get some battle chaimails. No captains with them? Check leutenants. No luck? Go to kabal and kill some knights in HL castle. Don't hunt for EQ you don't realy need. Now, as titan, i'm happy with 2 green longswords and dscal or battle chainmail. It's enough to kill unicorns in flotsam. And I don't go for deepie or something big, cause i don't need it.

Re: Limited Items.
Well said Davvol.
Zaroth: I think you need to lower your requirements a little? But really, you think it would be fun if everyone had the best possible EQ always like you said? Wise trolls always spawning with holy axe? So if he spawns once each hour (probably spawns more in reality), and lets say he is killed once every two hours or more, then we would have between 84 and 168 holy crystal axes in the game / armageddon + those saving from last time.
We might as well let people start with the best possible weapon and armours and forget all about EQ-hunting...?
By the way, EQ-hoarders cant get everything the first 24hours anymoe. That was changed some time ago so that great EQ is spread out during the entire cycle. It makes it even harder to actually get it since you dont know when the good EQ will be spawned, but it makes it fair for everyone. Anyone can get lucky, but those who hunt the most will still get the best EQ eventually.
Many seems to have their "requirements" set very high (not only you!), and arent happy if they dont have the best of the best EQ, and dont go to the best of the best grinding areas. Me, I think thats good, getting the best EQ should be something hard, something to work for. Either by growing, or by gathering friends. And once you do you can possibly go to the best grinding areas too. If thats your goal. What are you working for if you can do it all as a small young player? There has to be something to reach for!
But thats only what I think.

Re: Limited Items.
Im not saying that there shouldnt be limits, Im saying that I think some of the limited items
probably isnt so good that they need to be limited.
And I am saying that I think limited items makes people cautious about sharing theire
"hard earned" items with fellow guild mates.
I guess I miss the old days, when people shared the equipment with eachothers.
Or maybe Im just not in the correct guilds.

Re: Limited Items.
I think that has much more to do with the crappy rack systems that are in many guilds still, than the item limit, to be honest.Zorath wrote:Im not saying that there shouldnt be limits, Im saying that I think some of the limited items

Fortunately, the Admin said they would fix racks for every guild, so every guild had the same nice functionalities that can prevent rack-looting...Or atleast that's how I interpreted their responds to this issue.

Re: Limited Items.
Lets be more specific.
What items should be unlimited?
I can agree, what dscales, battle chainmails, tempered shields, huge mithril shields, heavy steel clubs, crimson swords and stuff like that can be unlimited. Nowdays it's really decent items with all thas uber armours and uber weapons around.
Also, i remember days, when NPC, introed to you, was shown in "who" list. It was funny and now, with lower player base, it's can be good thing to have it back, cause "midle sized" characters will meet acidently on NPCs like Arlenn, Tyberus, Golie, Calof and others. Thats a good way to find new friends or enemies, IMHO.

Re: Limited Items.
I really think that when limiting items makes people get so protective about equipment, that they dont want to help the guild they are within with dropping items in the guild rack.. then something is serious fucked up.
Perhaps Im the only one thinking so, but I do.. and now after only been back for like two weeks.. Im getting bored.
Equipment is important.. not only for the big players.. but for the smaller aswell.
Good equipment can make you able to do much much more, and make things more intresting perhaps.. maybe even alittle more fun.. who knows.
Perhaps your limits are to strict I dunno, but this is getting frustrating and boring for me atleast.

Superior equipment has always been crucial when/if you want to kill something thats really "above" you in skills/stats etc, problem is people has gotten spoiled and expect to have the best equipment all the time.
(and I am no exception, I'm an equipment whore and wont be happy until I have my favorite gear).
But to be honest, I do not need the best equipment to kill big monsters, I do pretty good even with
standard equipment due to my size/tactical knowledge.
I see heroes and titans running around with equipment alot of myths cannot even obtain, and with this
kind of equipment they are able to slay foes much larger then them, then once they dont have the equipment
they feel that they "suck" and cannot kill anything worth killing.
As for getting bored, what is it your bored of ? With the auction house being active, most of the super
equipment is up for sale(although the real good items are usually sold real quick), but anyone with some
coin can through auctions get the best equipment in the game, its just a matter of obtaining enough
coin to be able to do so.
I am all for lifting some of the limitations though, some of the equipment thats limited/difficult to obtain(like HSC and DMS in goblin caves, I can spend an entire day killing goblins without getting a single one, only good spot to get them is from Angmar guards)are not that "good" compared to the super items out there and should be easier to obtain.
Something that always bugged me when I was a vampire was how easy magical light items were to obtain(and the fact that their magical glow never ran out like darkness items) and to hoard, play for 1-2 hours and you can easily have 20 magical light levels, try to get the same amount of darkness and you have to play at least 5-6 hours , then by the time you have enough darkness the first ones you got were dying or players you were hunting had 50 lvls of magical light instead

I think wizards need to re-evaluate/tweak the balance between magical dark/light a bit and while they are at it, look into some of the limitations on weapons out there. Seing how weapons and armours break so easily these days its really foolish that you should have to hunt for days to obtain a runed falchion and then have it break after 1 hour, its pretty depressing. Magical items should either not break so easily or they should spawn more often.
Also while we're on the whole euipment issue, the current system is flawed. While the intentions were good
the outcome of the changes are not very good. Instead of having people rush for equipment for the first 48-72 hours you have people hunting the last 24-48 hours of armageddon to get saving equipment.
People are hunting last 2 days of arma to get 90% of the items saving, and then once armageddon hits 99% of equipment does not save and they now have all their equipment to use until it breaks, then hunt for new items
in the last 2 days of reboot.
Cause lets be honest, the first 2-3 days of armageddon very little limited equipment spawns, t, there's npcs that once you get 1 item, the next 2-3 times they respawn they have the limited items again.
Perhaps this is what was intended, but it seems weird, now its all about being around for that drop time(which is usually 3 days into reboots).
I also have to say the way it works now that you have like 1% chance of getting saving equipment in the first 3 days is kinda depressing, not to mention that if you login right after armageddon collapsing with gear, you have like 1-2 items out of a 100 that saves, I think its taking it a bit too far.
Well enough ranting from me, I am sure other people will disagree, but atleast this is how I experience the current system. Getting the best equipment isnt really hard(just look at how its really the same 4-5 guilds that get 90% of all the limited items over and over, like Neidars get all crystal axes, DA/PoT get all the knee-high brown boots etc) I can see how its discouraging for other guilds when they can hardly get any of these items and always see them on certain people.
I'll end my note by stating that we need to change/tweak the system to work diffrently, cause right now the new system is just as broken as the previous one, the only change is that the "eq hunt period" has switched from first 48 hours to the last 48 hours of each reboot.
Re: Limited Items.
Probably Mercs and Glada are champions in suck-rack competition. Dunno what's in Glads (i can't kill Brutus nowadays), but in mercs there is set of nice eq all the time. Yep, no runnies, no shintors, but like 4 cleavers, 2 BSA, 7 green swords, some crimsons and golden-hued. Scales and so on. I think it's good EQ for char under champ level, right? I'm happy with it, and i'm droping my glowing abbasi in guild rack with no any doubt, cause i know, i can get another one.
Re: Limited Items.
It is good equipment for a normal run, however if you are going to pfight or you like grinding in some big places (like trolls or minotaurs) you will have problems.
