I always assumed you'll get a little more money when selling stuff if you got higher trading skill, but I am probably completely wrong... ? :)

Indeed, it is kind of a multiplier to know how well you trade wares. Unfortunately, most shops have a limit in the amount they can pay per item (3 gold and 108 silver), and that amount is usually reached at journeyman trading. So, training above journeyman (for smiths and neidars, for example) is a waste since you would hit the roof just as if you were a journeyman. And the difference you get between a journeyman and a master selling small things (that don't hit the roof) is usually less than a silver coin.

It takes thousands of trades to notice the difference. With another smith we would forge staves, get sure they were almost equal (we had to create our own systems to compare items since the appraisal abilities are rather lame) and then sell dozens of those in every shop to create a ranking of shops (the best ranked one was the shop in the old Palanthas, gave almost twice the money others like the one in Flotsam gave). This way we would maximize our profits.

I think it is more important the shop than the trading skill, nowadays. I can reach master trading with the Istarian Medallion, but the difference is minimal.

Not really, don't think Zorath shared it with people other than Rhynox. But if you talk to Rhynox he will give you some tips (although I guess I should redo it since it is like two years old by now).

While I do think that there should be a bigger diffrence from what you get with lower/high trading skill, at the same time
I ask myself do we really need to make getting money easier?

Look at the bank accounts people got today, 100k+ its insane.

Back in the day when I was considered wealthy and was top 10 RMC, I had a total of 10k in the bank, these days anyone
who has less than 10k is considered poor.

I would rather see that newbies got higher trading and had an easier task of getting money, than letting legends and myths
keep gathering thousands of plats in heaps.

Especially considering so many of these rich people have gotten their wealth through scripting/roboticing in forges etc,
I do not think it should be rewarded any further.

Money in the game today is way to easy to make, and there's not enough things to spend the money on as it goes in.

I agree with you, Lindros. I think the biggest problem is not the ease in which players can earn money, but the scarcity of reasons/need to spend it.

Designing money sinks that matter to players is a big and important challenge. Any suggestions?

While creating new ways to spend money would be intresting,

I do think that certain people's accounts needs to be purged before that is introduced, there's too many
players out there who has great riches through scripting/cheating through wiz friends etc.

On a sidenote, I do think the Barrows outside Bree needs to be adressed, the money is hands out is skewed.
