And you just validated Ilrahil's claim..

Re: Need for a change
Mers was jaded as a Ranger.
Mers was jaded as a Calian.
Mers was jaded as a Mercenary.
Jury says, Mers is just a jaded individual who needs to be ignored.

Re: Need for a change
I like Mers posts, they are quite amusing and seeing people fuss over them it even more hilarious!

Re: Need for a change
Many people of Genesis seem quite uptight these days. We all need to chill out and enjoy the game. The only thing killing this game are its players.
Re: Need for a change
Wow...I was gone for a few days and there is so much to catch up on. Here are my 2cc to add to this discussion before it derails much more off topic...
All this discussion regarding guilds and enemies and all that, I personally think they are a little short sighted. No matter how you shuffle abilities in the realms, there will be no one guild that will contain all the abilities of every guild (though I think it would be cool for there to be a wiz day guild where the xxAvatars would have such a guild).
The real power in Genesis comes from the proper utilization of the powers available. The key word is _available_. I doesn't matter how much a particular guild has a particular ability, if there aren't any active players in that guild. If you want a particular ability join the guild that has it, if you don't want to make a particular change, then that's your bad.
I'm totally opposed to goods and evils having access to all abilities. Over the long run, Genesis won't survive this way. What causes interest in a particular guild is the things that make that guild unique in the realms. If every player had the same abilities, you will soon find that all power players will migrate to the same "configuration" over time. So in the end you will have basically an army of clones of players all with the same abilities and same strengths and weaknesses. That will just foster boredom in the end.
I like Ilrahil's actions recently. He took leadership of the BDA and built it up to have allies and friends with him. If you are feeling a little underpowered, then go ahead and do the same. Find friends with different abilities to join you, or if you are bored, then go out and make a change or better yet, change yourself...

Re: Need for a change
One more thing I would like to add...
There was some other discussion about alignment and allies and teaming and such. I also totally disagree with leaders forcing their minions to stay only within the conflict inside their realm. One of the greatest strengths that Genesis has is the combination of all these fantastical realms. There are many games out there where you can play a Ranger or Morgul Mage, or Solamnian knight or Dragonarmy soldier, but where have you seen a mud where you have a knight teaming next to a ranger?
It's the combination of all the themes of these realms that is one of the things that makes Genesis unique. We not only have all the realms, but many of them have deep lore and are coded with very high quality. The combination of these themes means that a player can choose to 'bend' certain rules and understandings because they are not longer strictly bound to the lore of their particular realm.
At the same time, Genesis gives you the option of playing only within the realm and the lore you involve yourself it. The point is that the choice is up to the player (and perhaps the guild leadership), not hard coded in a forced way...
Just something to think about...

Re: Need for a change
Not exactly true, some domains lack the number of guilds you can affiliate yourself with to define your character and make it pure x-Realm, and others have sufficient number of guilds but they either don't work well together (Rangers and Heralds duplicate abilities and complete lack of damage output for example) or they are only for a very specific combination of your alignment, race and other features.Earth wrote: At the same time, Genesis gives you the option of playing only within the realm and the lore you involve yourself it.
I fear no evil for I am fear incarnate.
Re: Need for a change
The ability is given nonetheless.
