I started playing in 99 well after the first stat change. There were 100+ players online regularly and you had to wait to play. I never heard anyone complain (or even talk about) the stat changes in or out of the game. The player base has declined since then due to other reasons, none of them having anything to do with a stat cap. How many players do you suppose left Genesis because they didn't want to spend their time grinding trying to keep up with the neighbors next door?

Whenever I suggested a stat cap my point was not to make the game more fun for current players but more appealing to new players. I don't think the future of Genesis depends on the current players but rather on attracting new players and I think a stat cap helps with that.

I agree. However if we add a stat cap before we have any new players... well... question if how many of the old ones will be left to welcome the new ones?

Personally I would welcome it, but I feel like a minority these days as I dont have as a goal to grind as much as possible and hunt higher stat-averages.

I still think its a crazy idea.. Stat cap... balance already made alot of people stop playing, and if now we all have to end at the same size too.. its just not my cup of coffee.. i respect the fact that if people spend 12-13 hrs online grinding and questing, they should be mega huge or violent.. capping, again.. when ever you mess with peoples characters, capping them, making them less... it will bring some serious anger to the table.. Let people grow i say, its a fantasy world... let people grow as insainly big as they want.. and then give them a chance to retire that character, transfere q or c xp to another character, and then fresh start.. but simply capping it because some smaller folks think its unfair that some are huger.. that is just wrong.. But i bet this one will come through as a cap eventually, because, there is so much whining among people.. Uhhh hes bigger..its not fair.. tho he/she spend 15 years getting there.... No let a cap destroy that.. block growth.. then people would for sure leave..

What good would the cap actually do ? i fail to see what good it will do..? it will make old big players stop playing.. no doubt.... why do we all have to be so damned equal..? it just dosnt make sense.. some get shit nerfed others remain extremely powerfull, others are just not recoded.. and now you want a cap to mess it all up even further..?

Nerf the guilds. nerf the weapons, change the npcs, change the areas.. but LEAVE MY STATS ALONE !!! its my character.. period..

How about a stat cap people could choose? It could work like this:

-Set the cap at the size of the largest character that exists now.
-Prior to reaching the cap nothing changes and the game is exactly the same as it is now.
-When players reach the cap they choose to be capped or uncapped.
-Uncapped characters cannot kill capped characters or characters smaller then the cap
-Uncapped characters can beat capped characters in a fight but the capped character does not loose experience or equipment. However, the uncapped character gets 4 or 5 fantastics worth of progress as a reward.
-You can choose anytime to cap or uncap your characters but if you are larger then the cap and decide to cap yourself you loose the excess experience.

I am too tired now to explain why this would be good thing so maybe tomorrow....

I respect your oppinions on this matter.. But then why just not say Myths cant Pfight..? it would keep the fighting base around legend sizes, and those who dosnt want to fight can just grow to myths and retire with rp and grinding and playing their game at own will.. Myths cant get attacked by players, and they cant attack players.. that would work as a pvp cap insted of a stat cap.

those who don't have big chars are complaining about those who have? again ...

what is your issue actually? that you can't kill them, or that they don't like you, or that they don't support you (with gear, exp, whatever)?

if you can't kill them - trust me, you wouldn't be able to kill Saya, Freya, Ilrahil, Lindros, Poet (or whatever his char name is now) etc. even if you were their size ... if they were/are as prepared as they usually were/are when there was/is any danger around them

if they don't like you - tough luck! stats won't change that; Xar had general disrespect for Laurel for years of sharing the same guild with her

if they don't support you - tough luck! get them to like you, so they will support you - stats won't change that

once again: END GAME CONTENT is NOT supposed to be available to everyone ... it's not like every WoW/BFBC2/Aion/LeagueOfLegends player is supposed to acquire all achievments those games offer

The problem is not that the EGC isn't available to everyone. The problem is that there is no EGC in Genesis to begin with.
