Dont know if this is the place to do it, But to attract new players, perhaps on youtube or other video game forums, and to perhaps put on our own web side.. but have someone good at playing the game, make a second, while putting the screen on cam, and speaking, to the people, I cant do it I lack the cam, but a small video that shows what genesis is... how to make the caharacter, what to look out for, wich hints and pointers to use, triggers on diffrent clients ect ect.. something perhaps a wizard could do, and someone that can make it funny, and speak to the world,.. I dont know if you get the idea here.. but sorta of an Intro video of genesis to share on all the forums we are on.. perhaps..?

Like First video, Creating a character..

second video. The toturial area.

third video, Combat./combat triggers.

fourth video, Roleplaying..

fifth video A fight between a cupple of players..

sixth video. Questing.. (some quest we all know perhaps, and can show it on a video)

Things like that, to make people really see..

Well dont know if it could be done, but i think it could grab peoples interest, if they saw a video of it.. kinda.. is this a bad idea ?

Alorrana: Some kind of youtube-video probably is a good idea. I have been thinking about how we could do some type of trailer that could be used in promotions. Since I work with film and TV, and have actually made tons trailers for national TV channels here I could surely do it. The problem is figuring out an idea that doesnt feel... well silly... since its text and all.

About your ideas, well why not, som einformative video clips on how gameplay looks and how some things are done could perhaps be useful. Like a video tutorial-ish thing you mean?

But you dont need a cam for it. There are tons of programs out there that record what is happening on your screen. So it is much simpler, anyone can do it, and you will get better quality than pointing a camera on your screen.

try a few and see if you like one? Many are completely free.

Yeah, well something like when people make a wow character and sit and talk about it.. so have a wizard starting up by making a character..

Like hello fellow mudders, i just wanted to tell you something about the little world of genesis, its a mud from 86 bla bla bla bla.. and now im going to show you how to make a character.. and then, this is the character section, here you can choose this and that.. and you tell em how to and what to if you want to be dwarf, elf human or what ever. and speak and tell both advantages and disadvantages about the choises. but keeping it on the posetive side.. Like if you want a beating snarling basher, goblins would be the race for you, from there you can go to mino, orc, or.. bla bla bla.. then that would be the first video.. about the game in general, and making your character..

second one could be just gameplay with in the torurial, sit and speak a bit and show people how to walk around, looking, examining, and getting stuff, searching, and telling them how to notice stuff around in the game.

third video could be combat with an enemy, show some player vs npc in the game, and show what to look for, and how to initiate your special attacks from guilds and generaly the basics of combat, booze for healing, herbs, and healing, perhaps have a cupple of players work together on this one.. say Earth and Hektor, Earth was fighing wounded on the plains of krynn vs the Dragonarmies, and hes sending a message to Hektor, that then swings by and heals him, show some cool features of the game.. while speaking, and making it interesting.. refering to the books and then like catching peoples attention.. and imaginations..

Third video could be hints and guides for roleplay within your guild, so people know we do tend out rp and like to play it.. not how to play, but a dwarf, sturdy greedy and proud.. elf, arrogant, graceful and erie.. Ork, brutish smash head.. Ogre.. dumb smash head.. Angmar.. Tries to smash but no (joke) but you know. the general play for guilds..

stuff like that, so people could "see" the game in live action, insted of just reading about it. perhaps.. anyways just a thought,, but could be funny. someone good in english and wise in the game, and would be willing to make it.

Hello my name is X, but I'm better know as Y in Genesis. Today I'm going to give the tutorial on how to solve a quest in Genesis. We'll be attempting to do the Narwhal Bone quest in Terel.

:> Jump on third branch of oak tree
:> Swing from broken branch out into lake
:> Catch small-large fish with broken branch which was baited with the gummy worm you bought from the vendor who didn't have it listed for sale
:> You catch a Fish!
:> Suddenly the Narwhal comes up and eats the fish you catch!
:> Take Narwhal to Bloodsea, get net, carve up body, get bone!

I'm not sure me telling anyone about the game is going to attract new players.... I'm not as experienced a player as most.
And I think I'd come off quite ditzy...

but sure... if you come up with a script and a way to record it where it doesn't require a lot of effort on my part. I'd do it.
