I hope its something like if your character moves one room without you being there you die three time with no recovery and for each time you get caught you add a death..

Greneth joined me in discussing botting in an attempt to drill down to the underlying issues. While I agree that emo-raging and repeating emo-comments is much easier, it's also counterproductive, illogical and unreasonable.
I am again corrected in my assumption that the people I share something with (in this case - an outdated game) could appreciate the same values as I do - logic and reason.

Please don't let me confuse you into stopping to water down an attempt for a sane discussion with more fanaticism.

Better?:)

I am bravely challenging the wizard "rule" to never promise any dates! (But just this once, in general I think that's a good rule)
I like it, I think that you are willing to apply a date inspires confidence. However, my comment was actually directed at the word 'often'. Remember what I said about 'perhaps, might and should'? 'Often' fits in there as well. A new rule that will only get applied 'often' makes me sad. Words chosen in speech have a way of effecting action and thought, and vice versa.

Let me start by apologizing that your thread has been hijacked from your original purpose. In an attempt to address your original post, I will go on to say that I don't agree with your premise. I don't agree that scripting is good for the reasons you have stated. I also don't know anything about the griefing you are so disgruntled about, so I will leave that discussion to you and anyone willing to engage you on it.

Do they have the expression 'pot calling the kettle black' where you are from?

Right. Well. I can promise to apply the rules fairly to all players. And that it will apply the same rules to everyone being caught. But I could never promise to catch everyone breaking our botting rules. That's simply not possible without a dedicated bot hunting team or something... if you wanna be on it, you know where to apply to become a wizard.:)

I've been the target of a bot hunting team, and I wasn't even botting.
Was no fun in any way, I trust Cherek being fair. I look forward ot the test or whatever it may be.
Never liked the old botmachine test thingie, mainly due to me being a retard watching ASCII.

It's hard to balance it. I think players should not have to feel they are constantly watched. Yet, we do want to catch those who break our rules too. Which probably will mean some people who don't break the rules do get checked now and then. About the captcha test, well, if you can't answer it you can just commune us and say so. That proves you're there too.:)

Fair enough.

I would consider it, but let's be honest. I would be a harsh God, and I doubt I would be allowed to dole out the punishment as strongly as I would feel is warranted. So, probably for the best that I don't.
