A pair of gold gloves
Why not make flames with the pair of gold gloves work with shields?
Give the monks something.

Re: A pair of gold gloves
Snakeskin gloves are the favoured choice.
Making brass knuckles (if they are still around?) cesti and the flamming gloves somewhat obsolete.

Re: A pair of gold gloves
Of course they are the one they choose firstly, if the gold gloves changed that might be different also.Tarax the Terrible wrote:Snakeskin gloves are the favoured choice.

Re: A pair of gold gloves
I think the monks already got quite enough.
There was a reason for why a ton of powerplayers suddenly joined them.
Monks are not supposed to be super offensive, and therefore they should not have thrown items at them, to make it so.
They are the tanks, the defensive types.
And as such, they do little damage. Kill slow, but never be in danger.

Hmm... I don't get the ultimate-tank-dual-shield monks. When my old char was in DO, I never used any armours, at all (Belegorn's school). The only exception being cesti, knuckles and this gauntlets from Cirath that dealt fire damage.
I fear no evil for I am fear incarnate.

I’m not a complete idiot. Some pieces are missing.
Re: A pair of gold gloves
I think they already provide quite good fire damage. Compared to snake one everything is crap, at least is what everyone says. There is only one choice they say, and it's the snake gloves.Alorrana wrote:I also thought Lydens gloves where cool and use to look for em. but they are bollocks i was told. but cool descrip.. flaming golden gloves.. Yeah.. as rare as they are they should provide more fire damage, just make it with a mana drain.. because you cant rack em, switch them to another player.. and if you dont get em right after lyden dies they also vanish.. could be cool if they where uber..
Lyden often have that crappy polearm.

Hehe Creed already beat me to it. That polearm is actually nice when fighting the right foes.
I dislike how the gloves work though. I think its good you sacrifice tanking for the extra damage but with the way they vanish so easily it makes it not worth the trip to Tyr to get.

Re: A pair of gold gloves
Tried the polearm against the right foes a while ago and it seemed to be bugged or nerfed.
I wasn't getting any of the smoking flesh messages. Or maybe my skills where not high enough.
Either way no one uses that heavy beast any more.
I also think there used to be a quest related to the polarm and a shark in Thwil.
But I never figured it out and think it is also gone now.
