Greetings all
PVP has always been a part of these realms. There does come a time
that is can become abusive, some current players in the realms today
are being abusive with it, period.
I was killed long ago locked in the troll treasure room, the reason
because someone put a bounty on my head. Great roleplay. So I formed
a killing machine team, slayed the person 3 times, claimed 3 bounties
was put on her and forced her into compilutation not to mess with me.
So what do you think happened? Therock was slapped with a good ole
suspension because it was not considered roleplay then. Now this was
some , holy cow, 12 years ago, but still. They claimed I went too far
and abused it.
For Freya, to me see Beregond I guess with a FBB, and somehow your
special affiliation with the Nazguls, you think its ok to kill him
for that? BAH!!!!!! For all you know he could have bought that from
the auction house. The rule has always been, if you didn't see the
player commit the act then it was not done. In the old days, mages
dared you to try and kill a Nazgul and then if you were caught fighting
it , you were certainly doomed, because there were mages such as
Trennagin and Ugleplect roaming these realms who sent you on a vacation
to Lars, not relying on some Army member.
Beregond, my advice, see Bofur and Freya, run , find safe room, form
a formidable team, I don't mean get 3 players, get like 10 and have
fun with them. Turn the tables. Its just an idea though may not
fit with your roleplay within the realms. Just dont let the deaths
lower your morale, this is a game, in a year or two you will be telling
the story of two cowardly myths attacking and killing a little hero,
basically a skill-less task for the two of the supposed calaibar
players in Bofur and Freya.
I like Nellnights idea as well as Budwise's idea he had about having
a player option to toggle PVP on/off per storm.
Yours truely

Re: PVP
My biggest problem with the current PvP rules is lack of consistency by the Arches.
Petros and Gorboth this is not me yelling at you or demeaning you but let me give an example of why to me and to many others it becomes confusing as to what is abusive player killing and what is not.
Back a couple years ago as a Union member I was slain not once but four times by two Knights. After the third I contacted Earth as Eagledraco was playing his politics game. I was no longer on their enemy list, yet a few days later I was once again slain by them. I reported it to the Arches who stepped in and told them to not do it again.
A few years down the road, Freya had attacked Irk multiple times but had not killed him yet or had not done so for at least 6 months. She was given a ban on playerfighting after that fight. You might say... big deal, she had killed a lot of people and I would not disagree with you. However, a member of her team at that time Goul who was a young vampire and had not participated in any pkills since joining, and had a natural enemy of Neidar and Knights as a member of the dragonarmies before was also given the playerfighting ban after ONE single kill.
So this to me becomes confusing. What is acceptable in regards to pfighting and what is not acceptable in regards to pfighting.
I agree players should police themselves, it is why I refuse to typically participate in a fight against Earth unless he is killing on the plains. I know he wishes to avoid conflict in PvP but he also respects that if he is killing my guards on the plains that he opens himself up for advancement upon by myself or my team. But at the same time there are factions split where some wish to PvP and some do not. This then becomes the problem that we have and I offered a suggestion about it before... but don't really want to take time to find the thread. Perhaps Tarax remembers directly where it was *smiles hopefully*
The game needs people who are the big baddies like Freya and Bofur. I personally think Freya has been semi-tame compared to her days as a Vampire, and since she is supposed to report all conflicts to her General yes I do know who she kills etc. As to her ties to the Nazgul Therock she is an Angmarian and well a chaotic army who is allied with the Mages closely I think has every right to attack someone for having it. There was a Flaming Black Broadsword for auction not more than a year ago and a note was posted saying anyone who bid on the sword if discovered to be bidding would be hunted by the Mages.
While the game needs the big baddies like Freya and Bofur it also needs people like Beregond and Madmartigan who RP exceptionally and Beregond I do hope your morale doesn't get to low even though you probably won't read this unless I post it in game as you've done an exceptional job so far.
Hmm I'm starting to ramble. The game needs clear defined rules in regards to pfighting to a point if this is going to be an argument every time someone controversial is killed. It needs a system for those who wish to pfight and for those who can't pfight to remain safe, but needs some form of policing to make sure those being kept safe aren't abusing it in some way.
