Let me tell you a story...
Years ago in this world there was something called choice.
One could choose how his future would come around. Then there
was the choice given by the authors of the world. Some things
were restricted, some things depended on your creativity.
My story starts with a GA who did not grind. Didn't give two fs
about his stats/brute he was happy as a penguin with his possibi-
lities. He was in an unknown guild of thieves.
After finding out that certain globe took 0.5 seconds to turn
into ashes he started thinking. During this half a second he
could do a lot... open gates, unlock containers. Creators of the
world gave him a free card. After weeks of thinking and planning
and counting how long it takes to run from one point to another...
With certain equipment some things became a reality. Here comes
Zyklone. Wish I knew who this guy is/was, definitely epic.
With Zyklone and weeks of planning we get the idea of the
ultimate theft. GA robbing SU... just like that.
Weeks of gathering curugwathes (herbalists were not yet there,
would be too easy, get them on 15 herbalism I dare you), hunting
for gloves/boots etc... One guy stands guard on thieves vessel
making sure the other guy doesn't end up stranded. The other
enters the nest. First and second excursions went uneventfully.
Adrenaline was still gushing from my nose. With 100 or so
SU chest items (20 or so never seen before) I was still
overwhelmed. Dropping this all at home, newbie comes in:
"WTF?" "Yeah dude, thieves work alright", kudos to the maker.
Third time broke the charm. SU guy closed/locked the chest.
Also asked me why I'm sneaking... shit yeah, pick lock, open,
get all and see ya in hell. (also 3 minutes of adrenaline
pouring out of my ears, you should try that seriously guys)
And that was it. Major guild moaning/complaining made thing
that made this MUD great a sad thing: memory. Whine your ass
out and we will turn this into WOW without special effects.
Magic locks now prevent any of your plans from becoming
fruitful. Uber guilds need magic securities, let not players
have anything to say (why would dwarven horns still make them
run to their guild? why gates are magically closed? same
bullshit reasoning)
Kept this secret for too long I believe. Zyklone if you're
reading this: Thanks dude, that was and possibly is the
best adrenaline rush I've ever had! Wish this game did not
turn into another DPS-rules story and would stay to the rule
of empowering users to do what they cannot in other multi-
player games.
