beware of pale yellow clouds!

Stat clouds!

Yeah! Found a new-ish mage ability! They got stat clouds!
Surprise!

Well, maybe not toally unexpected, but now we know they
got them still!

At the green dragon’s little lair outside Flotsam, I
found no dragon, but a pale yellow cloud instead! And
Fluffy! I decided to “take one for the team” and inhale the
cloud.

Sure enough! A few minutes later my stats were novice-like!
You know, feeble, deft, sickly, and all that. Nice! I could
die from stumbling on my own legs! Yikes!

So I left the area to recover. It took a bunch of minutes
and then my stats were restored, I think it went quicker
than that old type of stat cloud (I also expericed that one
a few times). But that was some time ago so it’s hard to say...
Compared to the stat cloud the mage in orc camp gives, this
one did not last as long. I think.

But there’s many variables I bet. It sure brings
down your stats to novice level in a few minutes, no doubt
about that. That part seemed very similar to the one orc camp
mage uses. But this one did not last THAT long. I think.
I’d need to research that more to be sure. Maybe how long
it lasts is kindarandom too! Who knows...

It’s dangerous though! Thats for sure.

And when the stats return you’re at death door of course and
out of food in your stomach! It’s definitely a dangerous ability!

So be vary if you see a “a pale yellow cloud.” somewhere.

It seems I was able to “not to breathe in any of the toxic
fumes”. Although I only managed not to do it one time, the rest
of my breaths made me feel dizzy. But apparently you CAN “dodge”
it, however it seems quite unlikely you will do so.

It also seems like if you leave quickly enough though, without
taking a breath, you’re okay. But if you stay a second or
two, you’ll most likely end up inhaling them unless you’re
very lucky!!

I dont know if it is more dangerous the longer you stay in
it. I took 5-6 deeps breaths and it sure had a pretty quick
effect on my stats. I saw no indication that more breaths are
worse though, compared to the other orc mage cloud... my
guess is that it’s probably best to not take ANY breaths when
in a pale yellow cloud!

I had two death resistance items on, so that probably dont
help much. If it’s like the “old” cloud I would guess maybe
poison resistance could help. Guess i’ll have to try that
next time...

Well! There you go! Watch out for pale yellow clouds!

Let's stop using the term wrong. At least. You can't have an IWIN button in Genesis. It is not possible.

Code: Select all

I win button refers to any skill that other players feel is overpowered in PvP combat. The suggestion is made that players need only one button on their UI, and can simply mash it to achieve victory. (source" http://www.wowwiki.com/I_win_button)

Hehe, I am sure Kas said statclouds were not part of the new MM.
But considering the report it must've been nerfed like hell, perhaps it just stay on for 10 minutes instead of 15.

For the old stat-cloud, poison resistance is what slowed or stopped the effects. For example, three powerful purple potions should nullify it, or alternatively swap out a potion for an ensorcelled amulet or clear silver ring (according to literature).

I tried old statcloud with your suggestions in the past and sure it took longer for my stats to drop but they did drop eventually.

I've had the same experience with the amulet and orc camp mage. Mahur? Muahur? Well whatever his name is. Anyway, yeah, it slows down the effect. It still makes you unable to function and "dead in the water" though eventually.

Zar: Well, I wouldnt judge it an "I-win-button" just yet. We dont know what it takes to cast it, what limitations it may have, and so on. So far all I know is I found pale yellow cloud at green dragon and Fluffy up in the tree. So unless the dragon cast it and left, Fluffy did it.:) We also know with only death resistance your stats will drop quickly, and stay at novice level awhile. Perhaps shorter, or more random, than the old cloud.

Thats about what we know so far. Let's stick with that.

I was surprised to find it though. I too could swear someone had said they dont have them. Dont remember who though...

But yeah, either way, it again proves that researching stuff ingame instead of listening to what people say on Skype or on forums is the best way to actually find things out for sure. People can say anything, either on purpose to confuse you, or simply because they are misinformed themselves. When you walk breathe in a cloud and see what it does, you know for sure.
