Death's got his groove back

Code: Select all

Donut Dwellers,

So, I've gotta hand it to Lars - he's subtle! Not only did he put one over on
death with that lost bet in cards, but he managed to extend the setup far past
the agreed-upon duration by slipping a few "extra-busy RL" curse-stones into
my stocking at Christmas. Sheesh. Never trust a card-shark.

Anyway, Death finally couldn't take it anymore, and threatened to quit his
job and turn it into a new Archwizard position that I'd have to do myself if
he didn't start getting his due immediately. Suffice it to say, the situation
was remedied within the hour. Death may be a drama-queen, but I can't afford
any more work! (and, I have to admit, he always does bring the best bourbon to
the annual Christmas party.)

What this means, is that Death is back to collecting his old due. If you die,
he'll be there to collect in full on his old original percentage of your
accumulated combat and general experience. Things are exactly back to how they
had been with no changes in place.

This was an experiment, folks. Thanks for all the good feedback and discussion
we had on the Forums. I will continue to contemplate what new system, if any,
we might want to try in the future. For now, we'll call this experiment a good
opportunity to learn, and revert to what we've had for over a decade. The
experiment is over.

Cheers, and try not to die!
G.

p.s. The exp-loss system in the attic of the Sparkle A.G. is closed again. It
might eventually be replaced with a similar system, but not right now.

p.p.s. Death is *exactly* how it used to be. Recovery is in place as before.
There are no changes. I stated that above, but I figured I'd be explicit
     in anticipation of questions.

Mmmmmm ... pie ...

And suddenly the mages show an interest in my whereabouts again for the first time in months. Such a curious coincident.:)

But I think it's a good thing we return to what we had until we, or you rather, know in which way to head in regards to PVP and death.

It's just a tease. Believe it or not, Kiara isn't really that interesting for the mages.
Might and Glory flaming for changing dawn, ancient power revealed of an iron crown, clear and cold and shining so far and bright, crush the world in one clash of your binding light.

Gû kîbum kelkum-ishi, burzum-ishi. Akha - gûm-ishi ashi gurum!

Ok, thanks for letting me know. That's a relief, then I think I will idle at the roundabout all day tomorrow. Or wait. Hah! I am not falling for that old trick. Trying to lure me into thinking its safe. Silly mages.
