Code: Select all
Greetings,
You may have noticed that the health and progress descriptions have changed
today. This seemed like a good opportunity to solicit input on all level
descriptions. What those are? Essentially all lists you find under the "levels"
command (such as "levels health"), but also other places were a range of
descriptions is used instead of numerical values (the well-known huge heap of
something).
The Quest: Provide input on how we can improve these lists and descriptions.
This could be in the form of a wholly new or updated list or just
pinpointed comments.
The Reward: All serious entries will receive (quest) experience and potentially
other goodies.
The Method: Send mail(s) to Postmaster with your submission.
The Period: Until 28 Feb 2015. Of course you can make sysideas any day of the
week, but they don't qualify for this event.
The Jury: The Admin, chaired by the Arch of Events.
The Sponsors: Recent donations by Chade, Grampal and Lestharoth.
With regards,
Mercade

New health levels sucks. They are completely uninformative and confusing. Not all of us are native english speakers. For most of us slightly<somewhat<rather<very<terribly. But what is relationship between very hurt and aching? What is more hurt - somewhat hurt or sore? You are forcing us to memorize something, what should be clear and intuitive, like slightly hurt is less hurt then somewhat hurt. Please, revert it back as it was.

Another issue with new levels. You left some descriptions as it was, so minimal progress or some progress or somewhat hurt. But they mean now different level. So "old" terribly hurt<> "new" terribly hurt". Players for decades was using TH as minimal acceptable level of health in combat, most of players has wimpy set on TH. Now, TH is less then old BA, what can cause some "accidents" now. Same with progress. If you wish to "double" levels and keep some old descriptions, please, leave old descriptions meaning the same, like it was when progress levels where extended first time. Or remove old descriptions completely, so there is no confuse, like I'm at terribly hurt, I can kill that NPC, oops, hi Lars.

Why so? Previously you would have to know at what health it would be safe for you to use kheroism. Now... you need to find that out again.
Flee you fools!

Also, with all my respect to wizards and Mercade personally, for what that change is done? Just for change? We have more important issues in game, like bugs with potions, sometimes with herbs (last time i tried to sell single herb of 10 in inventory all 10 where gone). But instead of fixing it you do cosmetic changes to make game even more "digital". That mistake was done once with new mortal levels, let's continue to do same things again. More stat levels, so anyone can calculate their stats in numeric and know who is bigger and who is smaller. New supermyth mortal level and so... Let's do it.

nope. previously i knew on what health it would be
possible to use kheroism. Now after this change I am just curious if someone took a look at this, cause if the particular descriptive level remained, then it can be to risky to even think of using that.
