Why not make the walk-up-and-join option toggle-able by the guild councils?
Why not have guild council members take a sort of 'oath of office' in
which they agree to either step down when RL gets in the way, or allow
themselves to be voted out / removed from the council should they be
unable to fulfill the role properly due to time constraints or a perceived
lack of interest? This seems to work well for the Union and it keeps hurt
feelings to a minimum. I mean, you can't be upset if someone holds you to
the terms of the agreement of being a council member, right?
Flexibility is the key. The Genesis population is aging. Most of us are
long past 21. We have children. We have obligations. We have a limited
amount of free time. That we choose to spent it here says something.
That some no longer do so, also says something. The question is, what?
