Scavenger Hunt 2016 Results
---------------------------
For this 12th Scavenger Hunt of Genesis, a total of 150 items were placed on
the list for all to find, 100 "normal" items and 50 were continuously hidden
by the AoE team. All 150 items have been found and were submitted at least
once. 3978 items were submitted by 77 players in this year's Scavenger Hunt,
a significant increase compared to the last few years.
Everybody who participated received general experience for every item that was
submitted. A bonus is awarded for every 25 items scavanged. Congratulations to
the top 10 presented herebelow, and Varpulis, the highest ranking young player.
Great job!
1. Starla 146 items (47) Scavenger Huntress of the Realms.
2. Arcon 145 items (47) Scavenger Hunter of the Realms.
3. Orien 140 items (41)
4. Pasha 129 items (30)
5. Enabegam 125 items (29)
Croll 125 items (28)
Logg 125 items (27)
8. Ghorphys 124 items (29)

10. Valandil 119 items (21)
15. Varpulis 102 items (13) Junior Scavenger Hunter of the Realms.
Unique Items
------------
The stunning bright sapphire gown was the rarest item with only 2 participants
finding it. The mistform knife in contrast was the most reported item, at 53
submissions.
Teamwork pays off!
------------------
In total 12 teams registered for the even this year. The team Starla and Arcon
was unbeatable for overall score, collecting 149 unique items between the two
of them. Two teams get a commendation for having the most unique items compared
to the individual member scores: Nightflower's Team with Caestus and Garlaf,
and Sanceline's team with Montagu, Quencil and Taro.
Collecting rewards
------------------
All people mentioned in this note above may claim their (experience) reward at
the Office of the Arch of Events in the Sparkle Tower. The awarded titles will
last one year. We hope you all enjoyed the event.

During event we saw following messages:
ceramic pestle, you are rewarded. This is your twenty fifth item, worthy of an extra reward (at the end of the event). You put a ceramic pestle into the big hollow pumpkin.
So, it is end of event and when I claim reward I see:
claim reward
There is no reward for you to claim. If you think there has been
an oversight, please 'mail aoe'.
So.... ???

Obviously, AoE after very long and careful consideration have decided that having 77 participants in the event is ALOT too many, so they decided to discourage most of them away from the next one.

I feel the effort put into hunting the items was not worth the reward (although it was quite fun at times). It's interesting to see the same two players win the Scavenger Hunt yet again. How do they do it? Luck, skill or...?
