Greetings Denizens of the Donut,
It appears as though Thanar was over zealous in the
new powers he granted to his priests and priestesses.
I've spoken directly with him and he has agreed to
not grant such a boon. It is still there, and you may
wish to consider bringing someone with the ability
to heal with you, but it is not so forceful as
before.
