Make Dragons Aggressive!
Dragons are big nasties of the Realms.
So why do many of them sit there like pussy cats waiting for the players to get ready to attack them?
This is particularly lame of the Krynnish dragons.
Who allow the team of brave heros to stand next to them waiting for the dragon fear to wear off before starting the fight.
Yes if Emerald was aggressive she might paralyze and kill someone who just accidentally wandering into her lair.. Thats what dragons do!

Re: Make Dragons Aggressive!
Dragons of Krynn are supposed to be pretty bright beings, in dragonform or otherwise, so it's not like they have to mindless zombie-attack-anything-that-moves monsters?
Still a moody dragon would a better option than an auto-attacking dragon. A little uncertainty is always nice in a case like that.
But, if dragons autoattack, people would just assemble their team 1 location away from their lair anyway, so no difference than now.

Re: Make Dragons Aggressive!
Being unpredictable would be a step forward.
In the books the krynnish dragons were very nasty pieces of work.
I would say a 75% chance of attack would be fair.
Assembling one room away would be different to now, where you can enter and wait for dragon fear to pass before attacking.

I’m not a complete idiot. Some pieces are missing.

Re: Make Dragons Aggressive!
Interesting...
Dragon friends, pretty cool idea.
Assist a dragon to fight off the looters
"Problem" with Krynnish Dragons is they nearly all have uber gear in their lair that mortals want.
If they were true to the books they would be killing mortals in one attack.

Re: Make Dragons Aggressive!
Balrog pwnz dragonz any dayz. Amenz.

Re: Make Dragons Aggressive!
A Balrog is a Maiar who was corrupted by Morgoth and is therefore quite powerful. It is not a simple beast but a minor deity (Maiar are usually associated with being Angels, that type of idea.) So, yes, a Balrog should be able to kill any type of Dragon.
But since Dragons are in fact quite intelligent and have minds of their own (except the Red's who are just focused on killing and maiming) then I think they should be moody and unpredictable.
