More frequent armas?
Yet another thing that's been bugging me lately... What if Armageddon would come every 2-3 days instead of a week?
I know that the new server can handle gen being on-line for extended periods of time, but at the same time I'm not entirely sure that's a good thing. After all, Armageddon is usually a prime-time for Genesis activity (saving racks, race for new equipment, once-per-arma quests being available again etc.). Don't you think it would stem more overall activity if armas came more frequently?
What would be the downsides (apart from a hit to uber equipment hoarding of course)?

According to your logic it would be best if we had constant armaRhaegar wrote:Yet another thing that's been bugging me lately... What if Armageddon would come every 2-3 days instead of a week?

I am ok with what we have now and I would probably be ok with 2 to 3 days but I am not sure its really necessary.

@Greywolf: Necessary - no. Would it make people play more? - I don't know, that's why I started this thread.

Re: More frequent armas?
What a cheater..
Didn't like the long armas at the start.
REALLY didn't like them. Because the equipment drops were all f8ck£d up.
Lost quite a few active people then.
I think now they are working pretty well...
I would hate to go back to the old way, 1 or 2 people standing by the racks every day/night.. Other having saving weapon + ready to run like a maniac to favourite 5 equip drops getting pissed if someone started there and beat you to it.
No thanks.
I would like to go the other way and see Armageddon hardly ever hitting.
Items left on the ground breaking like a golden bracelet after ? 24 hrs.
Broken items disintegrate after 1 hr. Etc

There, I said it.

Re: More frequent armas?
The problem is Armageddon is an improvised design to deal with what is effectively a large-scale memory leak. Ideally, Armageddon would never be necessary. But to move in that direction, we need to make things independent of Armageddon, from quests to item drops to resetting rooms. Good luck finding anyone willing, able, and with permission to do so.
