Yeah, why should the Dragonarmy get dragons but no one else? Everyone should get dragons! Dragons for Knights, Dragons for Neidar, Dragons for Free People, Dragons for Dragons, Once everyone has a dragon, everyone will equal.

It seems likely that both Neidar and Knight troops enjoy certain advantages not shared by other factions. Neidars benefit from their racial hatred of goblinoids, which grants them a significant damage boost when fighting those. Knights, on the other hand, have elite troops equipped with torches, allowing them to assist one another effectively, particularly sucky for attackers in the bigger rooms. This can be especially challenging for vampires attempting to join the fray, for obvious reasons.
Given these inherent advantages, the dragonfear ability from the dragons of the Dragonarmy doesn’t seem like an unreasonable perk. As for the Free Peeps, they often seem like little more than a rabble. Why should they wield anything beyond pitchforks and sticks? The free peoples power can come from their numbers, increased troops. Quantity over quality.

Suggest you fight an ancient dragon and compare to any of the other npc's on plains. The damage output is insanely more, the dragonfear is just a perk like the torch or infravision etc.
Would like to see more harder opponents in general and equip them with annoying abilities, now the hardest part is finding that final npc.

Hi,
I kind of like your idea of having certain warplains have more significance for certain factions. Maybe the Solanmian Plains have a 1.5 multiplier to their time score for knights, same with Estewilde for Neidar. I'm not sure if that would work. There was your idea of making minor victories for the different factions holding specific plains. Maybe these two ideas serve the same purpose?
Hunter
Yeah I like that idea... but working out a formula for it will be the trick. Perhaps we can get progressively more sophisticated with our monitoring... some players could be particularly active in one particular battlefield and get recognised as such with additional thematic warfare titles... like the Tyrant of Throtyl Pass, or the Fewmaster/High Yeoman of Solace? Baron Lord of Nightlund? Lord Protector of the Western Solamnian Plains? Dragon Imperator of Guardlund? High Shield of Estwilde?

Because the war is deliberately and decidedly unfair until the good dragons join the war.
And we haven't created the conditions to allow for that yet. We'd need to open the Dragon Isles, and have a quest associated with the rescue of the good dragon eggs Takhisis stole.

Nightbringer
Mmmmm... gotta say, funny coincidence that Danaes wants to take away Nightbringer's power so soon after being beaten in a duel with it.

That is very funny Qwer, but I will mention that I do not want the weapon to be nerfed, and that my suggestion of adding nightbringer as a warplains reward was entirely separate from me suggesting that the items only be empowered on the warplains. So while funny, the implication is pretty wrong.
While we're talking about items, how about a matching set of the Brightblade and the Sword of Tears?

Another thing I have been thinking about. In order to encourage active defense, and preference warring guilds in the war and participation. Please take this idea into consideration.
When a plains has their NPCs spawned in there is some chance that a special type of NPC is spawned along with the normal forces. This enemy would be normal in most ways with the exception that it has a special, that if given the chance to fire, will send a messenger/warning horn/alarm to an/all awake members of their corresponding guild. The special might take a long time to fire in order to allow for attackers to prioritize it, and different faction NPCs might have different flavors or ways of protecting that alarm NPC. For example Elite Knights might rescue the NPC when endangered, while Elite DA Officers might throw draconians in front of it.
This not only encourages active defense of any of the plains, but also serves at least a small incentive towards membership to the warring guilds, since these would give an advantage in a revamped war system that just members of the club would not have.

As a member of a faction that isn't tied to a guild I support this. Krynn guilds that have a stake in the war should get a leg-up on the competition to encourage participation and maybe even increase recruitment. Will they win the war more often then non-guild related factions? Most likely. But I don't think that is a bad thing. They have the restrictions and other limitations of their Krynn guilds while the non-guild related factions have only alignment restrictions to consider. More restrictions should mean more power because less restrictions definitely means more power.

Warnings are reasonable ideas. Doesn't have to be restricted to aligned guilds.. could be all participants.
Thing is i'd probably require a cost associated with equipping a warfare area with warning systems... maybe like 100 steel coins for warning alarms for a battlefield. Not sure. And i'd probably restrict the warning to only come to players within that faction who are in the Krynn or Ansalon domain...
